Dennis launches Cyclist coffee brand

Dennis Publishing’s cycling media brand, Cyclist, recently announced the launch of the first in a new line of premium coffees.

Dennis launches Cyclist coffee brand

Cyclist is expanding into e-commerce and retail with a single origin Colombian coffee that delivers, say the publishers, the perfect pre-ride espresso.

Dennis Publishing says: “Sourced from the Huila region of southwest Colombia, the beans’ unique flavour comes from the rich, red volcanic soil high in the foothills of the Andes. At altitudes of up to 2,000 metres above sea level, the smallholder farmers hand pick every coffee cherry only when it is ripe, red and juicy, ensuring that only the best coffees beans make it into Cyclist coffee bags.

“The resulting arabica coffee is wonderfully bright and fruity to taste, with notes of toffee apple and blackcurrant, finishing with subtle hints of dark chocolate.”

Dharmesh Mistry, Publishing Director of Cyclist, said: “Road cycling and coffee have been entwined since the 1960s when the Italian coffee machine manufacturer Faema was a major team sponsor, supporting champions such as Eddy Merckx. Today cycling cafe culture has evolved, with some excellent cycling hub cafes across the UK servicing cyclists’ growing thirst for coffee pre, mid and post ride. Creating our own coffee has been an enlightening experience and culturally feels like a natural extension of the brand. The coffee has been approved by both the Cyclist team and our readers, which gives us absolute confidence in launching this product to the public and the trade.”

Cyclist coffee comes as either Whole Bean, Cafetiere Course Grind, or Espresso Fine Grind, and is available in individual bags or as a subscription.
