The DPOTY Awards 2011 launched in July last year and has received thousands of entries from photographers right across the globe.
The category winners for 2011 are:
Overall Digital Photographer of the Year – Eric Fabico
Landscape Digital Photographer of the Year – Jon Philpott
Portrait Digital Photographer of the Year – Ali Sharaf
Action Digital Photographer of the Year – Brendan Cullen
Wildlife Digital Photographer of the Year – Jackie Campbell
Black & White Digital Photographer of the Year – John Powell
Creative Digital Photographer of the Year – Matthew Dent
Editor Rosie Tanner commented, “It’s been a fantastic competition, with an exceptional standard of entries this year. We’ve discovered some really exciting photographic talent in the process too. The competition judges included Editor in Chief, Debbi Allen, professional landscape photographer, David Clapp, Landscape Photographer of the Year winner, Antony Spencer, Head of Digital Imaging Division at Samsung, Nick White and award-winning wildlife photographer Ben Osborne.
Nick White, said, “The quality of the photography submitted was nothing short of exceptional making this a difficult competition to judge. However, the category winners deserve praise for their work and we thank everyone who took the time to enter their images.”
