Lizanne will take over from Tracy Jones in 2021.
Lizanne has been working in the international distribution business for over 25 years, her first Distripress was in the mid-90s when she was Export Manager for Comag UK.
She has enjoyed roles with magazine distributors and publishers in the UK, US, New Zealand and also lived in Japan, France, Germany and the US at different times of her life. Her most recent role has been as International Manager with Genera Solutions/CMG.
Commenting on the appointment, Distripress President, Tyler Brule said, “After a thorough search the Distripress executive committee is pleased that Lizanne Barber is taking up the managing director post – effective January 1, 2021. As we have much to do, we're also happy that Lizanne will already be doing meetings between Tracy and the executive committee to ensure a smooth and inspiring transition.”
Lizanne added: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up the position of Managing Director for Distripress. I have no doubt the business situation will continue to be challenging but I look forward to working with all the members and the new EC to find ways of developing our industry. I hope to catch up with you all soon, although virtually for the time being!”
