Emerald has 43 journals accepted in ESCI

Emerald Group Publishing is partnering with Thomson Reuters on its newly-launched Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) to maximize the scholarly impact of authors’ work.

Emerald has had 43 journals accepted in ESCI, which extends the universe of publications in Web of Science (previously ISI) to include high-quality, peer-reviewed publications of regional importance and in emerging scientific fields, says Emerald.

All ESCI journals are searchable, discoverable and citable.

Dr Martyn Lawrence, Publisher at Emerald, said: "We’re proud to be partnering with Thomson Reuters and to have had such a wide selection of journals accepted as part of ESCI.

“Above all, this is a great message for authors. ESCI will make content important to funders, key opinion leaders and evaluators visible in Web of Science, and increase the reach and impact of their work.

“In addition to the 43 titles in ESCI, Emerald has 62 in the core Web of Science indexes and more than 1,000 titles in the Books Citation Index, meaning that Emerald authors have a wide range of options when seeking publication.”

Authors and researchers whose work is accepted in ESCI will be given real-time insight into a journal’s citation performance while the content is considered for inclusion in other Web of Science collections. They will be able to measure the contribution of an article in specific disciplines and identify potential collaborators for expanded research.

ESCI provides Web of Science users with expanded options to discover relevant scholarly content. ESCI is an edition of Web of Science, so subscribers will gain access through their existing subscription.

The 43 Emerald journals accepted by ESCI fall under the following subject categories:

• Accounting, Finance & Economics

• Business, Management & Strategy

• Education

• Engineering

• Health & Social Care

• HR, Learning & Organization Studies

• Information & Knowledge Management
