Future announces auto series dates

Future, the special interest media group has announced the dates and venues for its Auto Events Series 2011, along with the news that headline series sponsor Adrian Flux Insurance Services has renewed its contract for 2011 and 2012.

In 2010, more than 80,000 fans from across Europe visited Future’s Auto Events series, an increase of 22% in attendance on figures from 2009, says Future. Produced by Future’s events team and in collaboration with Future’s auto magazine portfolio which includes Fast Car, Redline, Classic Ford, Fast Ford and Total Vauxhall, last year also saw the addition of two new events to the line-up – Japfest2: The Evolution and Total Vauxhall Live.

Future says: “The fuel-filled summer of fun kicks off with Japfest at Castle Combe on 14th May. As Europe’s biggest Japanese car show, the circuit at Castle Combe is transformed into a petrol-head paradise and a great day out for the full-throttle family.

Moving to the Santa Pod track in Northamptonshire, the Classic Ford Show takes place on 5th June and as the UK’s premier classic Ford event, it promises to be a real treat for all fans of the automotive classic. The following weekend of 10-12th June sees the Performance Vauxhall Show take to the circuit; the UK’s biggest, busiest and fastest growing all-Vauxhall event celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Events in July include Japfest 2: The Evolution which takes place at Donington Park on 10th July; as Future’s second Japanese car event of the summer, Japfest 2 brings the same high-octane atmosphere to Donington’s world famous track. Heading back to Castle Combe, Total Vauxhall Live takes place on 30th July, with 100% Vauxhall action, public track sessions, club displays and a marque specific retail area; it’s everything a Vauxhall fan needs

The world-famous Silverstone circuit plays host to the last two events of the season; Europe’s largest Ford festival, Ford Fair takes place on 7th August, and with over 3000 club cars in attendance it looks set to be a must-see for all Ford fans.

TRAX then rounds off the events season in style on 4th September; with high-speed passenger rides available, the opportunity to drive around the Grand Prix circuit in your own car, and over 4500 display cars, it is the ultimate day out for any performance car enthusiast.”

Adrian Flux Insurance Services will again be headline sponsors for the Auto Events Series, along with all of the platinum partners from 2010 who have also resigned contracts for 2011 including Maxxis Tyres, Meguiars, Milltek Sport, Pioneer, STP and TSW.

Richard Schofield, Group Publishing Director for Future’s Automotive portfolio said: “These events are a growing and successful part of our Automotive business. They offer the visitors the opportunity to get closer to our magazine brands and to be part of the action – for our exhibitors they offer an unrivalled chance to engage thousands of highly active enthusiasts. We are delighted to extend our relationship with Adrian Flux, a company which shares Future’s passion for cars.”
