Zillah Byng-Thorne: “As we look to 2021, we want to continue the strong momentum we have built.”

And underlining Future’s ambition to support individuals looking to build a successful career in the digital media industry, the first tranche of roles released includes twenty entry-level news writer positions that require no experience, says the company.

The drive - the biggest in the organisations history - will see Future create more than 150 new roles over the next three months across a range of editorial positions, the company’s newly formed ‘Future Studios’ video division - which incorporates factual production subsidiary Barcroft - and to support Future’s existing proprietary technology platform.

The majority of the newly created positions will be specialist editorial roles across Future’s brand verticals, which span technology, games & entertainment, music, home & gardens, sports, TV & film, real life, women’s lifestyle, and B2B.

Zillah Byng-Thorne, Chief Executive of Future, said: “I am delighted to announce the creation of these new roles at Future. As we look to 2021, we want to continue the strong momentum we have built, with a focus on key areas where we know we can innovate and deliver for our audiences.

“Content that connects and innovative technology sit at the very heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new talent spanning editorial, video and tech, who will be able to ensure we retain and enhance our leading brand positions across the markets we serve.”

In an update on trading published on 7th September 2020, Future announced it is continuing to benefit from the trend in a shift to digital media, with organic unique visitors in the UK and US for the month of August up 25% and 40% respectively compared to the prior year.

Interested applicants can find more information about the new roles opening up at Future over the next three months here. The first batch of roles include nine permanent, full-time editorial positions and 20 trainee newswriter positions on a 12-month fixed term basis.

According to Future, entry level joiners will have the opportunity to progress through Future’s bespoke training and development programme. In a boost for developing new talent, trainee newswriter positions require no previous experience.
