Future goes on tour with Live Nation

Future, the special-interest media group, has partnered with Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company, as its innovative fanpack editions of the new albums from Alice Cooper and Machine Head hit the shelves.

Alice Cooper’s ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ is exclusively available now as part of the Classic Rock fanpack, well ahead of the album’s UK release date of 17th October.

As well as the full 14-track album, it includes two fanpack-only bonus tracks, a 132-page collector’s edition Classic Rock special, giant poster, face mask and more. Also available is an iPad edition.

Metal Hammer’s debut fanpack is the new album from heavy metal icons Machine Head on Roadrunner Records. ‘Unto The Locust’ is the follow-up to 2007 classic ‘The Blackening’, named Metal Hammer’s best album of the decade.

It’s on sale now featuring a fanpack-only bonus track, 132-page magazine containing exclusive interviews with all four members of Machine Head, bottle opener, key ring and more.

The partnership between Future and Live Nation sees the companies work together to cross-promote the fanpacks and forthcoming UK tours: Alice Cooper’s ‘Night Of Fear’ (25th-31st October), and Machine Head’s ‘Eighth Plague’ (3rd-6th December).

It further builds on Future’s burgeoning reputation for innovation in delivering music, having already partnered with record labels and the artists themselves to bring new albums and exclusive content from the likes of Blondie, Slash and Motörhead to the UK newsstand – a retail environment which is 10 times the size of traditional music retail space.

Now, the Live Nation partnership allows for the creation of a fully integrated marketing plan covering publisher, record label and tour promoter, with the collaboration benefiting magazine sales, album sales and tour ticket sales.

Chris Ingham, Group Publisher of Future’s Music portfolio, says: “Our fanpacks have been a hugely successful innovation and partnering with a fantastic tour promoter like Live Nation was the logical next step. We’re really excited about the benefits of working together.”

Steve Homer and Andy Copping, Vice Presidents of Music at Live Nation, say: “Live Nation are very happy to partner with Future to cross-promote both the fanpacks and our live shows.

“It makes great business sense to utilise both our companies’ marketing expertise to create sales platforms for both businesses. We look forward to continuing our relationship moving forward.”

Classic Rock Presents: Alice Cooper’s ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ and Metal Hammer Presents: Machine Head’s ‘Unto The Locust’ are both on sale now priced at £14.99.
