Future to launch new craft magazine Mollie Makes

Future has announced that it is launching Mollie Makes, a new monthly magazine focusing on contemporary fabric crafts.

On sale 12th May, Mollie Makes is the latest print launch from Future, and brings a fresh, new craft and lifestyle title to the market – aimed at reaching a whole new generation of crafters who are part of a vast online community getting their inspiration from websites and blogs.

The new magazine aims to provide readers with trendy and contemporary projects in a beautiful and inspiring environment. With the tagline of “Living & Loving Handmade”, Mollie Makes is not just a traditional craft project-book, but a magazine which celebrates craft as a part of life; curating the best contemporary craft content from around the world into a beautiful, collectable, unique and totally irresistible magazine.

Mollie Makes will be produced in Future’s Bath office by a dedicated and experienced magazine team including Editor Joanna Heptinstall and Art Director Jane Toft.  Each 100-page issue will feature exciting and unique craft projects, alongside photography and crafty ideas from around the globe.

Joanna Heptinstall, Editor of Mollie Makes said: “Today's crafters are creating a whole new aesthetic which is inspired by vintage, love of all things handmade, and showing off their individual style. They are crafting socially in cafés and clubs, and they are sharing their ideas globally, using the internet as a giant poster.

This is why Mollie Makes is so much more than a traditional project book - it is a lifestyle magazine for the generation who make up the handmade revolution.”

Kerry Lawrence, Group Publisher for Future’s Hobbies & Craft portfolio said: “Future has a long-standing track record of launching fresh and innovative craft magazines and this latest addition to the portfolio is set to continue that tradition.

Mollie Makes is aimed at the new generation of crafters who are not currently being catered for on the newsstand. The mix of unique editorial, first-class design, beautiful production values and innovative covergift will make this magazine an irresistible, must-have purchase for anyone with a passion for handmade.”

The first issue of Mollie Makes goes on sale 12th May priced at £4.99 including a covermounted ready-to-make kit. It will also be available via the Zinio platform for tablets and iPads.
