Future’s film titles partner with Kapow!

Kapow! Comic Convention has announced that Future Publishing’s film portfolio – comprising Total Film, SFX and Comic Heroes – will be the main media partner for this year’s event.

The partnership will see Total Film, SFX and Comic Heroes drive ticket sales and maximise event exposure, both in print and online to their combined audience of over 2 million people, whilst the respective film titles will curate the main stage at the convention itself.

The event, which is taking place on 19 and 20 May at London’s Business Design Centre in Islington, will build on the success of the first year, with an unrivalled array of talent from the film, TV and comic book world set to attend. Total Film, SFX and Comic Heroes will conduct live interviews with all the key stars from their main stage, with additional content filmed exclusively for www.totalfilm.com and www.sfx.co.uk.

Sarah Unwin, Director of Kapow! Comic Convention says: “Future’s film portfolio is the perfect partner for us. Kapow! is all about the biggest comics, TV shows and Hollywood movies and each of these core titles is positioned beautifully to push the material from the publishers and the studios to their target demographic. We really couldn't ask for more appropriate people to be working with and are delighted to have Total Film, SFX and Comic Heroes as an integral part of this much-anticipated event.”

Sam Wight, Future Publishing Entertainment Group Marketing Manager says: “The Kapow! Comic Convention offers us an extremely exciting opportunity to engage our key target audience from our very own stage, whilst also accessing a huge host of film, TV and comic talent. Through live interviews, exclusive competitions and a Cosplay competition, we can really bring our brands to life. Last year's event was a huge success and with this year’s set to be even better. We are thrilled to be on board!"

The comic-book guest list for this year includes the industry’s biggest names such as Warren Ellis, Frank Quitely, Mark Millar, Dave Gibbons, Charlie Adlard, Bryan Hitch, Scott Snyder, Olivier Coipel, Kieron Gillen, Sara Pichelli, plus Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, and DC’s Co-Publisher, Dan DiDio are confirmed to participate – representing the first time these publishers have both been in the UK for almost two decades.  The film and TV guests are set to be announced on 3 May.
