Glamour Turkey launches

Glamour Turkey, the eighteenth edition of the magazine, debuted on newsstands yesterday, and the website is now live.

It is the first new market for the media brand since Glamour Iceland launched in April 2015.

Özge Sarikadilar is Editor in Chief of the Turkish edition, previously Publishing Coordinator of Vogue Turkey. Sarikadilar commented “Glamour Turkey takes on the role of a life coach when it comes to topics such as style, beauty, relationships and career. Our biggest aim is to make our readers happy.”

Glamour Turkey is published under a licence agreement with Dogus Media Group, which also publishes the Turkish editions of Vogue, GQ and Condé Nast Traveller. Glamour currently has a monthly global readership of over 22.3m and 20.8m monthly unique users to its websites, says Condé Nast.

Karina Dobrotvorskaya, President of Condé Nast New Markets and Editorial Director of Condé Nast Brand Development, added: “We are delighted to bring one of the biggest selling titles to the dynamic Turkish market. Glamour fits ideally with the fast-changing world of modern fashion and beauty — that’s why it keeps expanding globally. We believe there is great potential for Glamour as a multi-platform brand with a significant and unique community.”

The launch issue cover story of Glamour Turkey showcases Elçin Sangu, the star of Turkish television show Kiralik Ask. Fashion content includes ‘Modern Sporty’, shot by Turkish fashion photographer Emre Dogru, and other editorial includes a photo shoot with Chris Noth of Sex and the City, and Burcu Esmersoy, a prominent Turkish television presenter. The official launch party for Glamour Turkey will take place on 15th March.

Turkey follows the United States, Italy, Mexico and Latin America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Poland, France, Russia, Hungary, South Africa, Romania, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Brazil and Iceland in publishing Glamour.
