Hearst appoints new Chief Operations Director

Hearst Magazines UK, the publisher of Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar, has appointed Clare Gorman to the new role of Chief Operations Director.

Clare will report to CEO Anna Jones and will have responsibility for all print and digital commercial operations. She joins the business with immediate effect from Hearst Magazines International (HMI) where she has been working as Director of Sales Operations since May this year. Prior to joining HMI, she was Senior Director of International Business Operations at AOL. Before that, she was Head of Sales Excellence (Operations) at Microsoft, for the UK and Europe.

Hearst Magazines UK Chief Executive Officer Anna Jones says: “I am delighted that Clare is joining Hearst Magazines UK. She is exactly what we need to help us navigate this next period of growth. Clare’s understanding of digital is superb, she is comfortable operating both strategically and at pace, and is used to working with businesses going through change. Her skills and experience make her a sound hire for the business.”

Clare says: “Hearst is a fantastic business and having worked for the international arm of the organisation, I’m excited by the different opportunity of working at local (UK) level. There is a lot of scope for me to make a difference, and I am looking forward to working with Anna and Hearst’s leadership team to help drive the business forward.”
