Bauer Media has announced that heat, its lifestyle and entertainment magazine will have a guest editor for the first time in the magazine’s history.

Alan Carr, TV presenter and comedian will guest edit the magazine which will appear on newsstands on the 11th October. Alan joins the team ahead of the launch of his book Alanatomy and his appearance on Stand Up To Cancer which airs 21st October. Readers will get the chance to tune in on Monday 3rd October as Alan chairs a conference where the content for the magazine will be discussed and decided – live!

Readers will also get the chance to pose their questions to the team on the 3rd October as the conference broadcasts live from 11am. They can then continue to follow the action on heatworld.com on Twitter @heatworld Snapchat @heat_mag and Instagram @heatworld throughout the week for updates on how the issue will unfold under his watch. Alan will also be bursting into Sarah Powell’s show on heat radio on 6th October and taking over the 5 o’clock disco. The magazine throws open its doors to allow readers incredible access to see the workings behind the magazine, as the team plan and create its content across celebrity, fashion, beauty, TV and lifestyle – they may even have a surprise in store for those who tune in, says Bauer Media.

Alan Carr, Guest Editor, heat commented: “I’m used to hosting a TV show and doing stand up tours but editing a magazine is going to be nerve racking and a challenge although finding out that I get to veto ‘Torso of the Week’ could prove to be an added bonus. I can’t wait to take readers behind the scenes at the conference and will be preparing in advance to get my editor hat on by watching Anna Wintour clips!”

Suzy Cox, Editor, heat said: “This is the first time we’ve let anyone take the helm, but I can’t think of anyone who embodies the heat spirit more than Alan Carr. I’m excited about what’s about to happen, but should probably be a bit scared… One thing’s for sure: readers won’t want to miss the result.”

Lucie Cave, Editor-in-Chief, heat commented: “heat is such an exciting multiplatform brand we are constantly looking at ways to evolve and bring our audience closer to the action, the live conference will be the first chance that our readers will get to see what it takes to put the mag together and with Alan in the room we’re sure that they will be entertained from start to finish!”

The heat conference will broadcast live at 11am on Monday 3rd October. Readers can log onto www.facebook.com/heatworld to take part and watch live as the issue is created. The guest edited issue hits the shelves on 11th October.
