i-D’s eight covers

The summer issue of i-D magazine has eight different covers.

According to distributors COMAG: “Since its launch in 1980, i-D has built a worldwide reputation as a manual of style and an indisputable source of consistent inspiration for everyone involved in youth culture.

Starting as a fashion fanzine, i-D is now one of the world’s most innovative and influential magazines, covering fashion, music, art, design, film and all things cultural and stylish.

In anticipation of a hot season of high performance, the Summer issue of i-D will have eight covers featuring some of the world’s hottest actors, models, dancers and musicians, who each got ready for their close-ups for the ‘showtime’ issue, with the iconic i-D wink.

Swapping the catwalk for the screen, supermodel Agyness Deyn has spoken to i-D about the transition to acting as she makes her first major appearance in British crime flick Pusher. Another cover star, Andrew Garfield discusses his early acting career in the UK and becoming a Hollywood star in his acrobatic role in The Amazing Spiderman.

Another European actor making it big in the U.S., Lea Seydoux talks about moving from French cinema to global stardom in hits such as Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, as well as the recent Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. Seydoux has recently signed-up to low-budget film Blue Is A Hot Colour and appears on her own cover with hair dyed a fetching shade of blue.

Other models featured in the Summer issue include Arizona Muse, Dree Hemmingway, Malgosia Bela, Andrej Pejic and Felicity Hayward, all talking about their careers in fashion, with the first three also giving the lowdown on their soundtracks for the season.

Elsewhere, top designers including Sir Paul Smith, Rick Owens and Margaret Howell have all given interviews and predict the trends for the autumn/winter menswear season.

While designer of the moment, Raf Simons, not only appears on his own cover, but reveals his much-anticipated plans for taking over the helm at the house of Dior.

Away from fashion and film, the Summer issue of i-D gets to grips with the likely sounds of the season, featuring Odd Future and K-pop, as well as the monthly i-D mix tape nights.”
