Immediate Media launches Hey Duggee magazine

The magazine brand extension of Cbeebies show Hey Duggee has launched with the title now available on the newsstand, priced £2.75.

The magazine is based on the CBeebies show, Hey Duggee, targeting existing fans of the show and also aims to gain new fans. The show is based around The Squirrel Club, which is similar to an after school — or day centre — activity club for pre-school children. The children take part in all kinds of activities, have adventures and earn badges for their accomplishments with an emphasis on learning new skills.

The first issue comes with a free baking set - with a Duggee cookie cutter, lots of stickers, a chef hat, Roly finger puppet, cooking utensils and the first badge – the Cake badge, loads of fun sticker activities, such as dressing Duggee up in some hilarious outfits, says Immediate Media. Young readers can find their special 'Squirrel Club' book in the middle of the magazine, where budding Squirrels can solve puzzles and learn how to bake.

Andrea Turton, editor of Hey Duggee magazine says: “We're really excited about the launch of Hey Duggee magazine, it's a truly original and funny programme and the magazine reflects this. Each issue will be packed full of things for parents and children to do together – from doodling a new hairstyle for Duggee, to making their very own Duggee cookies – this is the place for boys and girls to physically engage with the show!”

In the last ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) figures Immediate posted a significant increase in the ABC figures of their youth and childrens’ portfolio, up nearly 7% year on year.
