Incisive Media in early March announced the appointment of Adrian Barrick as Group Editorial Director.

Incisive appoints Group Editorial Director
Adrian Barrick: “My principal job is to ensure that we give our talented editors and journalists the right creative environment.”

In this newly-created role, Barrick will work with Incisive’s editors and commercial leaders to meet the fast-evolving needs of readers of the company’s 10 finance, technology and sustainability titles, across all platforms.

Barrick will also support the wider growth of individual brands, including developing new products and services. He started his new role on March 4.

Incisive Media CEO Jonathon Whiteley said: “High quality, independent and well-resourced business journalism is the beating heart of our business and the platform from which we are able to grow and serve our customers. We must continue to invest and adapt to the changing needs and habits of the professionals working in our end markets, to test new styles of journalism through data, video, social and research-led content.

Adrian’s appointment will strengthen our ability to do this to make sure that our brands retain and strengthen their leading status in our markets.”

UK-based Incisive’s titles include Investment Week, Professional Pensions, Professional Adviser, Investment Europe, Computing, CRN and Business Green. The company was last year named as the PPA’s B2B digital publisher of the year, and has won four AOP publisher of the year awards so far this decade.

Before taking up the new role, Barrick worked at Incisive as an editorial consultant, supporting the re-launch of Business Green in 2018 and the launch of Channel Partner Insight (CPI) in February.

In a 32-year career in B2B publishing, Barrick has worked in the UK, US and Asia as a journalist, editor, publisher, brand director and divisional CEO on brands such as Building, Campaign and Information Week.

He is a former winner of the PPA’s digital leadership award, PPA business publisher of the year and PPA editor of the year, as well as a three times winner of BSME business editor of the year.

Barrick said: “I’m really excited about the new role. Incisive has smart people, admired brands, and high ambition, the ideal platform to retain the loyalty of the influential professionals we serve. My principal job is to ensure that we give our talented editors and journalists the right creative environment for them to tell the compelling and valuable stories our professional users need in their daily working lives.”
