Jazzwise celebrates 25th with bumper issue

Jazzwise, Mark Allen Group’s print and digital jazz monthly and one of the world’s leading jazz magazines, celebrates its 25th anniversary with an extra-large April issue.

Jazzwise celebrates 25th with bumper issue

The 25th anniversary edition of Jazzwise will feature four individual covers in a special collector’s edition – with four leading lights of the current UK scene: Courtney Pine CBE, Claire Martin MBE, Bill Laurance and Cassie Kinoshi.

All four will be performing at Jazzwise’s 25th Anniversary Festival at Ronnie Scott’s from March 21–27 and each will be featured with an in-depth exclusive interview in the issue.

Jon Newey, editor in chief of Jazzwise, said: “My mission statement back at the start of Jazzwise magazine was ‘to change the way jazz magazines look and think, bringing together the editorial depth of a jazz title and the visual punch of the best rock magazines’, and try to keep afloat doing so! But like the UK’s ever imaginative jazz scene, we have endured and today, as part of the Mark Allen Group’s music division, we celebrate our 25th anniversary as the UK’s only print and digital jazz monthly, and one of the world’s leading jazz titles.”

The April issue also includes a free 15-track Ubuntu Music Catalogue Compilation CD with tracks by the label’s many high-calibre artists including Darius Brubeck, Omar and QCBA, the New York Allstars, Dave O’Higgins and Noemi Nuti, as well as Jazzwise’s Mega Euro Jazz Fest Guide, its roundup of the best jazz festivals this year across the UK and Europe.
