With magazine titles aimed at children from pre-school to pre-teen, Kennedy Publishing has announced it is expanding its readership reach with the sensory collection A Wonderful Wood, starting with a high-contrast picture book designed to support early visual development.
Kennedy Publishing says A Wonderful Wood follows five creatures as they prepare for hibernation, using the onomatopoeic sounds of nature and encapsulating the humour of adventure and warmth of friendship. The high-contrast illustrations encourage the development of depth perception, visual information processing, early colour recognition and more, the publisher continued.
“Having the right tools to support early development is so important to new parents today, and being able to introduce reading in a meaningful way from day one is such an exciting concept,” says Innovation Director, Steph Sewell.
The 36-page paperback book, which will be followed by a cloth book, flash cards and sensory mat, will be available through independent bookstores and Amazon for £6.99. It will be on sale from 10th April 2025.
