Key acquires Avion Revue

Key Publishing has announced the acquisition of the market leading Spanish aviation magazine, Avion Revue together with its South American editions.

The titles were previously published by Motorpress - Ibérica in Spain who have sold the titles as a result of a strategic portfolio review. This decision only affects the Motor Presse aviation business in Spain, Mexico and Argentina and not in other markets where Motor Presse remains active such as Germany and Brazil.

Key Publishing will publish Avion Revue and its related editions through its Spanish subsidiary Key Publishing Spain which already publishes a new Spanish language GA title, Avion & Piloto.

As one of Europe’s leading publishers of aviation magazines with market dominating brands such as Airliner World, AirForces Monthly and AIR International, Key are confident that, with its worldwide network of correspondents and in-region specialists, they can build on the

excellent reputation that Avion Revue has forged over the past 26 years in satisfying the needs of readers and advertisers alike.

Adrian Cox, Managing Director of Key Publishing and Key Publishing Spain commented: “Publishing international aviation magazines is what we do and, as a result, we are delighted to bring Avion Revue into the Key portfolio. It is a strong brand with a great history and we are relishing the opportunity to develop the titles further by utilising both the expertise we have in this market and our infrastructure of aviation experts around the world.”

The first issues to be published by Key Publishing Spain will be the November issue of Avion Revue (Spain) on sale on 30 October 2009 and the December issue of Avion Revue (Mexico and Argentina) on sale in November 2009.
