Metro sends in relief team to ease commuters' journeys

With the tube strike yesterday, Metro was handing out sweets and bottled water to commuters along with copies of the paper to try.

Metro was more present than usual on the streets of London yesterday, trying to make commuters’ mornings a little more bearable, say the publishers.

The urban media brand more than trebled the amount of stations it regularly hand distributes the newspaper at. Bottles of water and packets of sweets were also given out to brighten up difficult strike-affected journeys for people in the capital.

As well as continuing to hand distribute the paper at Brixton, Camberwell Green and Oxford Circus, Metro have also been hand distributing at Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, Holborn, Great Portland Street, Goodge Street, King’s Cross and Liverpool Street stations.
