New Editor for Rugby World

Time Inc UK yesterday announced the appointment of Sarah Mockford as the new editor of Rugby World.

New Editor for Rugby World

Having started her career as a sub-editor on the sports desks of various nationals, Sarah joined Rugby World as features editor in 2005, becoming deputy editor in 2012. Widely respected within the game, Sarah is currently the chairman of the Rugby Union Writers Club.

Sarah says: “I started reading Rugby World as a teenager and the excitement I had then getting a new copy from the newsagent is equal to what I experience now when a new issue arrives in the office. Rugby has changed so much in that time and I look forward to reporting on how the game continues to change, tackling the sport’s big issues and getting to know the next generation of star players to ensure Rugby World continues to both entertain and inform our readers. It’s always been a privilege to work on such a fantastic brand with a brilliant team and I’m honoured to be taking on the role of editor.”

Mike Harris, group editor of Time Inc UK’s Sports titles adds: “I’m delighted we’ve been able to promote Sarah to the position of editor. She’s a very talented journalist who knows rugby union inside out and is hugely respected by players and fellow journalists alike. Sarah's extensive contacts within the game and great eye for standout stories will ensure that Rugby World retains its reputation for top quality writing and investigative features that deliver insight and bring the readers closer to the sport they love.”
