New look for H&E

H&E Naturist magazine plans to use its new approach to come down from the top shelf. The new look February issue goes on sale on 19 January, priced £3.95.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: “Launched in 1900 as Health and Efficiency Magazine, H&E NATURIST is the oldest naturist magazine in the UK and now the only monthly naturist title in the world.

Continuously published for over 111 years, every issue of H&E Naturist features articles of interest for those who live the clothes-free lifestyle, from news and travel to art and culture, with regular columnists, readers’ letters and brilliant photography.

H&E Naturist has recently been revamped with a new, more modern design and has taken the decision to reduce the nude content, in the hope that this enables the magazine to move from the top shelf to a more prominent position in stores.

Despite a proud and rich history of promoting the idea “that natural nudity is not sexual or pornographic – it can be enjoyable as part of a healthy and active lifestyle”, H&E Naturist regularly finds itself on the top shelf of stores with the adult magazines.

As well as refreshing the overall look of H&E Naturist, the changes, in the words of Editor, Sam Hawcroft, to “tone down some of the genital nudity” are part of “an effort to reposition the magazine in the lifestyle or men’s interests sections” on shelves.

Continuing with the sharper, new look as well as the toned down images and photos inside, the February issue will maintain the same excellent standard of the content. The Editor says. “Take a fresh look at H&E Naturist – you may be pleasantly surprised!”

Given the changes being made to the look and content of H&E Naturist, retailers are asked to take the magazine off the top shelf and display prominently alongside lifestyle titles, such as Natural Health & Beauty, and Soul & Spirit.”
