Margaret McCloskey, the Head of Operations at the NFRN, is to leave the organisation at the end of September.

NFRN Head of Operations to leave

Mrs McCloskey is to join business led organisation Business in the Community (BITC) as a director.

Mrs McCloskey has worked for the NFRN for 21 years. In 2012 she was promoted to Head of Operations and has led a team of retail development managers and retail support managers whose prime focus is to help members run successful businesses.

She has been instrumental in creating a range of new benefits and services for NFRN members, including the implementation of the Federation’s Retail Standards library of essential training modules, factsheets and checklists to help retailers implement effective procedures and achieve business growth.

National President Mike Mitchelson said: “Throughout her 21 years with the NFRN Margaret has worked tirelessly on behalf of members and we would like to thank her for her significant contribution and wish her well for the future.”

Mrs McCloskey said: “Having spent 21 fantastic years with the NFRN, the time was right to accept a directorship with a development organisation in my home country and enjoy some exciting new challenges.

"I am leaving confident in the knowledge that the NFRN will go from strength to strength and will continue offering independent retailers the support and development opportunities they need to enable them to thrive in our difficult trading environment. I would like to thank my team and business colleagues for their hard work and hope they continue to succeed.”
