Pilot issue of GAZ7ETTA published

The “groundbreaking” pilot issue of Bauer Media's brand new men's news and style magazine called GAZ7ETTA was launched this week.

More than 500,000 copies of the 60-page sampler - previously known as Project REX - have been produced and are being distributed through Q, Mojo, Empire, Car Golf World and Grazia (for the reader to pass on to the man in their life); newspapers City AM and Metro and key partnerships with Harrods, Reiss, Top Man, matches.com and my-wardrobe.com.

This one-off issue of GAZ7ETTA provides successful men with a unique combination of the key news stories of the week and all the latest lifestyle trends and products, says Bauer. GAZ7ETTA'S mission is to identify, decode and contextualise the key stories that are driving the world they live and work in.

GAZ7ETTA is split between 50% news and 50% style and experience that men can use to improve their lives. It also has a digital presence through www.GAZ7ETTA.co.uk.

The GAZ7ETTA cover story dissects the shifting balance of power in football following the Wayne Rooney contract saga. Other news pages reference and revisit the Paris protests, Daniel Craig's reported threat to quit Bond, Apple's rumoured intentions towards Facebook and Boris Johnson's latest domestic issues.

There are exclusive interviews with Marco Pierre White - who shares his support for fellow chef Gordon Ramsay - whilst Edinburgh Festival winner Russ Kane talks about the difficult relationship he had with his late father.

Other features include a six-page celebration of the Saatchi Brothers - the advertising industry's real 'Mad Men', an in-depth look at the range of Eco sports cars coming onto the market, plus how to make money out of the Spending Review.

'What I Learnt' is a back page Q&A with Motorhead's Lemmy - a space dedicated to men of a certain age where they can pass on advice from genuine experience.

According to the publishers, the sampler issue has been strongly supported by advertisers, including BMW, Moschino, Harrods, Calvin Klein, Tag Heuer and Galliano.

The GAZ7ETTA pilot is edited by Andrew Pemberton, former editor of US magazines Spin and Blender (which won a prestigious Advertising Age Award for Launch of the Year) and previously Q magazine; and Style Director, Tom Stubbs.

Contributors to the pilot issue of GAZ7ETTA include Stephen Armstrong, James Brown, Jim Shelley, Daniel Finklestein, Dermot O' Leary, Gary Gibbon, Patrick Collins, James Richardson, Polly Vernon and Grace Dent.
