Polestar Colchester gains ISO 14001

Polestar Colchester has been awarded ISO 14001 accreditation, becoming the final web offset company within the group to achieve this status and bringing the total number of Polestar companies with the standard to six.

Steve Mears (pictured), managing director of Polestar Colchester, says: “We are delighted with our achievement, which comes after a great deal of hard work over the last 12 months. My thanks go to Terry Thompson, our Engineering Manager, who championed the process and put hours of hard work into the project and to Helen Cullen, our adviser, who worked closely with Terry and the Colchester Team. Her expert knowledge was superb and contributed significantly to our success.”

He continues: “With ISO 14001, it demonstrates our commitment across the business to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. Our motivation was to do the “right things” for the environment we share with others.”

Polestar’s other web offset plants, Polestar Petty, Polestar Chantry and Polestar Chromoworks, achieved ISO 14001 status in June 2008, February 2009 and March 2009 respectively. Polestar Sheffield and Polestar Wheatons also have the accreditation.
