PPA publishes Brexit guidance

The Professional Publishers Association has today published a guide, designed to help magazine and business media owners prepare their businesses ahead of a potential no-deal Brexit on October 31.

PPA publishes Brexit guidance
Owen Meredith: “We’ve created this guide to give practical advice on the steps you should take and how the law in key areas could change.”

Published at an industry briefing where delegates heard from experts and commentators on the likely outcomes of current negotiations, the guide covers five common areas of concern for publishers, highlighted in PPA member surveys, including Immigration, Intellectual Property, Data, Employment and Company Law.

With the UK’s exit from the European Union set in law for October 31 2019, the nature of the UK’s future relationship is still unclear, and this guide is designed to help businesses prepare for the possibility of a no-deal departure.

Owen Meredith, Managing Director, PPA, commented: "For publishers large and small, it is important to prepare ahead of a potential no-deal Brexit on October 31. We’ve created this guide to give practical advice on the steps you should take and how the law in key areas could change.

“With political uncertainty the new norm, businesses should consider how different potential outcomes from the current UK-EU negotiations could affect them. We will seek to update this advice as the political landscape unfolds and the PPA will be here to guide publishers to relevant resources to further assist you.”
