The ceremony, which commenced after a three-course meal, was hosted by Scottish comedian Craig Hill.

There were over 100 entries across the 19 categories, including the Magazine Cover of the Year which was voted for by the public, and won by Historic Scotland. PPA Scotland also surprised Paul McNamee, Editor of The Big Issue with a special Hall of Fame Award, celebrating his continued commitment to his publication.

John Innes, Chair of PPA Scotland commented: “The shortlist for this year’s awards highlights not only the diverse work being produced by publishers in Scotland but that the work they’re producing is up there with the best in the UK. It covers not only magazines but also newspapers, podcasts, email, virtual events, commercial campaigns, social content, video, and face-to-face events.

“PPA Scotland members today are not only magazine publishers, they’re broadcasters, communicators, influencers and agenda setters. They forge communities of readers, listeners and viewers. They hold the powerful to account and offer a hand up to those that need it. They’re old friends with generations of readers under their belts and new kids on the block uniting people around a common interest. They’re trusted advisors and court jesters. A link with the past and a window into the future.”
