RCNi sponsors UK’s largest health education hackathon

RCNi has joined NHS Health Education England and Hack Partners to deliver a hackathon where top technologists and innovators will work together to build unique solutions for problems in the Health Education industry.

TELHack, the UK’s largest initiative to innovate the healthcare profession’s education arena, will see healthcare professionals and hackers undergo 48 hours of intense innovation to create the future of medical education.

The two-day event, run under the NHS Health Education England (HEE) Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) programme, will take place at IDEA London and the Interchange Triangle from 6-8th November, and will welcome 80 of the best developers, designers and entrepreneurs from across Europe.

Their aim will be to compete against one another, and build software with the ability to change the face of today’s medical education. The winners of the TELHack hackathon will win an opportunity to pitch their idea at the National Science Museum in front of the industry and will obtain an exclusive opportunity to trial their project within the relevant NHS trust.

JJ van Delsen, Sales and Marketing Director at RCNi, said “We are delighted to be supporting this unique and innovative event. RCNi has always had a keen interest in encouraging innovation and progress in healthcare services, so the opportunity to be involved with a project that will improve healthcare education was an inherently exciting prospect for us. I know that everyone involved is eager to see the outcome of the hackathon, as it will no doubt yield products that improve the learning process for healthcare professionals and therefore ultimately benefit the patients they care for.”

Ignacio Willats, TELHack co-organiser and Hack Partners Associate, stated that "Hack Partners are proud to be working with RCNi on TELHack. We were very excited to learn about the vision to create an innovative and inspiring experience around educational content. Which has made for a great alignment with our goal of enhancing healthcare education through technology. It is great to be working with an organization with such passion for positive and forward thinking change in this space!"
