Robert Marr joins Metropolis as Chief Executive

Metropolis International has announced the appointment of Robert Marr as Group Chief Executive.

Robert Marr (pictured) is currently Chief Operating Officer of William Reed Business Media.

Jonathan Mills, Metropolis’ Chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Robert to Metropolis. We intend to accelerate our acquisitions programme and are actively seeking attractive opportunities both in publishing and in other unrelated sectors. This represents a development in our strategy which broadens our opportunities. Robert’s extensive acquisition and development experience will help us to pursue that strategy as effectively as possible. Our group has grown significantly over the last decade and now is a logical time to split my role between the Chairman and Chief Executive functions. In my role as Chairman I look forward to working with Robert to continue the expansion of the group”.

Robert added: “Metropolis has a successful record of acquisition-led growth and the broadening of that strategy will open up further opportunities. I am looking forward to joining Metropolis and working with the experienced management team to drive forward growth into new areas.”

Robert Marr’s start date with Metropolis is to be confirmed, but is expected to be before December.
