Towards Maturity enters alliance with Emerald

Towards Maturity, the benchmarking and research practice specialising in Learning and Development (L&D) performance in the workplace has entered into a new research and publication alliance with Emerald Global Publishing Group Ltd.

This alliance builds on the common goals shared by the organisations to provide credible evidence based research that impacts on the performance of organisations, says Emerald.

The alliance will allow the Towards Maturity Benchmark Research to be shared widely on Emerald’s digital content platform. Emerald will also actively support the launch of the 2016 Towards Maturity Benchmark due for release in November this year.

As Towards Maturity’s MD Laura Overton explains: “Our research programme has provided active support for existing HR and L&D practitioners around the globe since 2003. The next step is to make it easier for those studying to join the profession to access powerful, authoritative and independent research that will help them deliver results. Our alliance with the Emerald Group will allow our research to be accessed by a wider global market in order to increase the impact we, and our ambassadors, want to support in the wider HR and L&D community. It also helps us to continually improve the level of academic involvement in the Towards Maturity research programme.”

Tony Roche, Publishing Director at Emerald said: “Quality research, nurturing fresh thinking and delivering impact, are at the heart of our publishing philosophy. With this in mind, Towards Maturity’s highly respected Benchmark research is a perfect fit for us. By making the Benchmark available on the Emerald digital platform, we will increase the impact it has upon organisations. We are also excited to make the Benchmark available across our academic networks, enhancing its global reach and positively influencing the research agenda itself.”

GoodPractice (who joined the Emerald Group in 2015) share a commitment to helping L&D leaders make evidence based decisions. As a Towards Maturity Ambassador they are going to work with the TM team to use the benchmark evidence and their own research to help their customers modernise learning strategies and improve results.

As Peter Casebow, GoodPractice CEO explained: “Evidence based L&D solutions have always been important to us and our customers. We’ve witnessed a strong shift, with clients looking to understand the evidence for the L&D solutions they adopt. The Towards Maturity Benchmark provides the most comprehensive review of L&D performance in the workplace. This agreement allows us to support them as they look to expand and deepen the research that helps L&D professionals pinpoint the strategies and solutions that have genuine impact.”
