Triathlete launches in the UK

The European edition of Triathlete magazine hits the UK newsstand ahead of this year’s London Triathlon. The flagship title of the US-based Competitor Group Inc, Triathlete comes to our shores for the first time thanks to a joint venture agreement with Competitor Media UK.

Triathlons encompass three endurance sports: swimming, cycling and running and Triathlete inspires, educates and motivates athletes of these disciplines from all levels.  It shares the latest science, technology and lifestyle developments for readers to enhance their ability and enjoyment of the sport.  From the latest gear to the best training, from race reports to the triathlon way of life, Triathlete claims to be both the bible and voice of triathlon participants and fans.

100,000 people will enter one of more than 600 events across the UK this year alone.  It is the lifestyle sport of today, says the publisher.

The London Triathlon is the largest triathlon in the world.  Held annually, the event lasts for two days and this year takes place 1-2 August at ExCeL Exhibition Centre in the London Docklands.  The race attracts thousands of world class athletes and excited spectators, along with substantial media attention and coverage.

“Triathlete has always been in great demand in Europe,” says Publisher John Duke.  “Shipping costs have previously made widespread distribution cost-prohibitive. Thanks to Competitor Group’s joint venture with Competitor Media, European readers can now enjoy the great coverage of Triathlete magazine, along with rich local content at an affordable price.”

The first issue of this monthly magazine goes on sale on 23 July, priced at £4.50.
