Cyclist to launch in Middle East

Dennis Publishing has announced the launch of Cyclist Middle East planned for September 2015 with licensing partner Motivate.

The launch positions Cyclist as the biggest global road cycling magazine, with four international licenses and available in 15 territories across three continents, says Dennis.

The title was launched in the UK in 2012 and quickly garnered interest from licensing partners across the world, due to the unique appeal of its content, say the publishers. Cyclist is a premium brand that uses exclusive photography, working with the best photographers. With high-end production values, the magazine offers a beautiful reading experience with expert reviews, beautiful imagery and in-depth articles.

Cyclist Middle East is the third licensing deal to have been agreed in 2015.

Ian Bedwell, International Licensing Director for Dennis Publishing said: “Motivate already license The Week in the Middle East, so we know that they will do a fantastic job with Cyclist too. Cycling is a hugely popular pastime in the Middle East, with more races being added to the calendar there each year. The popularity of Cyclist magazine across the world is due in large part to the excellent editorial content that Editorial Director Pete Muir and his team create for the parent title in the UK, which translates perfectly across the continents. It is a dream title to license.”

The Middle East now plays host to three major cycling races, the Tour of Qatar, the Tour of Oman and the Dubai Gran Fondo, and several mass participation events, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for the sport in the Middle East.

Ian Fairservice from Motivate Publishing said: “We are delighted to have agreed this deal with Ian and the team at Dennis Publishing. Cycling is becoming a hugely popular pastime in the Middle East. Launching the title now will allow us to grow the global audience of the brand.”

Cyclist will launch in the Middle East under license by Motivate. The 116-page magazine will be on sale monthly from 1st September with a cover price of Dhs25.
