Egmont Publishing is to publish a special edition of its umbrella title, Showcase, dedicated to the Nickelodeon pre-school property, Top Wing.

This marks a further collaboration for Egmont with publishing partner Nickelodeon. Egmont currently publish magazines on two further Nickelodeon pre-school properties, Shimmer & Shine and pre-school giant Paw Patrol.

Top Wing is the newest Nick Jr. franchise and launched on television last August. Today, says Egmont, it is a Nick Jr. top five show among 2-5 year olds.

According to the publishers, the pre-school television series follows four best friend birds – Swift, Penny, Rod and Brody – who are training to earn their wings as full-feathered rescuers. At the Top Wing Academy, with the help of their mentor Speedy, and unique turbo-charged vehicles and high-tech gadgets, the cadets are assigned different missions to sharpen their rescue skills and help those in need, learning valuable lessons along the way.

Showcase: Top Wing includes stories, puzzles, colouring, stickers and a reward chart for Top Wing fans to earn their wings. It comes with a free gift of watch, binoculars and badge. Hasbro, Top Wing’s toy partner, will be running a competition within the magazine, giving readers the chance to win bundles of new Top Wing toys, which launched last month.

To celebrate the launch of the magazine, a competition will be run in partnership with Milkshake!, with the magazine being promoted both on the Milkshake! website and on air.

Kiran Vara, Publisher at Egmont, said: “We’re so excited to be taking flight with Top Wing and bringing the brand’s values of teamwork, perseverance and bravery to the UK magazine market. We’re sure that our pre-school readers will love the magazine’s activities and stories and getting to know the Top Wing team in this special issue of Showcase.”
