Future launches Professional Photography

Future plc announces the launch of Professional Photography magazine – the latest addition to its photography portfolio.

On sale from Friday 16th October, Professional Photography is a luxurious new title designed to appeal to professional and advanced photographers, as well as those who just simply love fine-art photography.

The world’s best photographers feature through every issue of the 116-page magazine. Say the publishers. As well as portfolios, interviews and insight from legendary image-makers, the magazine also highlights some of the best emerging talent. Dedicated gear and news sections reveal the very best new pro products and services while in-depth features help professionals improve their business skills.

Every issue aims to inspire photographers' work, inform their investments, and help improve their images.

Available in print and digital formats and published 13 times a year, the magazine will be launch-edited by Future's Group Editor-in-Chief Chris George – previously editor of Digital Camera, as well as instrumental in launching PhotoPlus: The Canon Magazine and N-Photo: The Nikon Magazine.

Professional Photography will enjoy high-profile media partner status with Future's The Photography Show – the annual professional and consumer imaging show. It will also be promoted on creativebloq.com, as well as across Future's photography and technology magazines and websites.

Issue 1 features an exclusive interview with the legendary Don McCullin to mark his 80th birthday, as well as in-depth interviews with Dougie Wallace, Danila Tkachenko, Pal Hansen and more. Features highlight new work from Sebastiao Salgado, while a roundtable discussion debates the future of photojournalism. Special reports focus on self-publishing, thanks to insight from the founder of Blurb, and in-depth guides to marketing photography through Instagram. There are also book reviews, exhibition previews, kit insight and much more, says Future.

Chris George says: "Professional Photography is very different from our existing print monthly titles. Its aspirational content and pro bias is designed to attract new readers, and to provide an upgrade path for those who have grown out of our practical, enthusiast-focused monthlies."

Matthew Pierce, Future's Head of Content and Marketing, says: "Professional Photography is a contemporary, relevant title for this sector. Printed on heavyweight paper with special cover treatments, and a clean modern design throughout, it looks and feels beautiful; it's the perfect canvas for some of the world's best images, as well as exclusive insight from the professionals behind them."

Professional Photography is available in print, or on a number of different digital formats including iOS, Android and Zinio.com.
