Launch: Country House

The first issue of Country House, a new annual supplement from the House & Garden editorial team, accompanies the October issue of the magazine on sale Thursday 1st September.

A compendium of some of the very best interiors in English country houses, the new supplement, featuring over 50 rooms, is also a resource for inspirational decorating ideas, and includes style tips from leading interior designers and pages of brilliant buys, says Conde Nast.

Hatta Byng, Editor of House & Garden commented: “No issue of House & Garden is complete without a country house or two; be they grand and traditional or small and minimal. This supplement makes the most of what we do best, featuring everything from boot rooms to grand drawing rooms, providing brilliant ideas and inspiration for anybody doing up their house.”

David Nicholls, Features Director of House & Garden and Editor of Country House commented: “We wanted to put together a magazine that really inspired not only people who live in the country and who are looking for ideas for their home, but also those who are living in towns and cities and are drawn to the aesthetic of the country house. I think it’s part of the shared national consciousness.”

Across 30 pages of editorial, say the publishers, Country House takes readers on an inspiring and informative journey from Cumbria to the Cotswolds. The supplement will showcase crumbling piles restored to their former glory; tiny thatched cottages that require dexterous moves to avoid head injury; and has unearthed creative conversions of neglected barns, as well as stunning new builds that blend seamlessly into their rural settings.
