Liam Gallagher edits NME and Uncut One-Shot

NME and Uncut have joined forces to release a one-shot dedicated to - and edited by - Liam Gallagher where the past meets the present, featuring archived content picked by Liam, along with a new exclusive interview.

Showcasing material from the archives of NME, Uncut and Melody Maker, NME GOLD: Liam Gallagher includes historic features and stunning photography celebrating his musical heroes and those who have made an impact on his career, say the publishers.

The 100-page, perfect bound issue gives readers insight into his musical journey. In his commentary, Liam shares with readers his thoughts on artists such as Stone Roses, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and George Michael as he talks the reader through the archived material.

Mike Williams, editor-in-chief of NME, says: “What better way to honour Liam’s career than to ask him to take charge of this special issue. This is his choice of the best material and reminds us all why he is such an icon – this is his personal printed mixtape.”

John Mulvey, editor of Uncut, adds: “Liam has featured heavily in all our magazines over the years, so we’re privileged to have a huge archive that he went through with us as he took the reins as editor. Bringing these legendary features together is a great way to share his story with our readers today.”

In an exclusive career-sweeping interview, Liam reflects on his journey so far, revealing his thoughts on everything from his new record, his mum’s knitting and brother Noel, to partying with a new generation of grime artists and making peace with artists such as Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Available in both print and digital, NME GOLD: Liam Gallagher is on sale now, with a cover price of £7.99.
