Vogue 100 exhibition opens

Alexandra Shulman, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, and fashion designer Leon Max this week hosted a private view to mark the opening of Vogue 100: A Century of Style at the National Portrait Gallery.

Showcasing the remarkable range of photography that has been commissioned by British Vogue since it was founded in 1916, Vogue 100: A Century of Style, sponsored by Leon Max, features more than 280 prints from the Condé Nast archive and international collections, brought together for the first time to tell the story of one of the most influential fashion magazines in the world.

Upon arrival, says Vogue, guests were welcomed with Perrier Jouet champagne and Elyx Vodka cocktail sours. Canapés included tomato and virgin oil tostadas with grilled aubergine, poached chicken and chorizo with white onion puree, yellowfin tuna tartare, Jerusalem artichoke cream with roasted artichoke, foie gras parfait with spiced crumb and an apple and calvados gel, and seared venison on a nibbed cocoa biscotti with a whisky orange marmalade.
