City A.M. appoints COO

City A.M., London’s business newspaper, has appointed Charles Yardley as chief operating officer.

Yardley joins City A.M. from Forbes where he has been managing director and publisher since 2004. At Forbes, Yardley was responsible for directing all international business, transforming the company from a print-based operation to a ground breaking digital success story, says City A.M..

Prior to joining Forbes, Yardley worked for Financial Times Business, the B2B arm of the Financial Times.

Commenting on the appointment, Jens Torpe, CEO and co-founder of City A.M., said: “Charles has exceptionally strong credentials in print and advertising. Over the past 12 years he has been instrumental in building the Forbes business that has bucked the trend in the publishing sector; Forbes has successfully grown its readership in print and built a digital business that accounts for 70% of advertising revenues. We are delighted that he is joining City A.M.”

As chief operating officer, Yardley will be responsible for overseeing the business operations of City A.M., reporting to Jens Torpe. He joins in January 2016.
