Fiona started her career with Northcliffe Newspapers in 1988 working for the Derby Evening Telegraph. During her 22 years at Derby, Fiona worked across the majority of advertising categories before becoming Advertisement Director. In 2010 Fiona joined the Nottingham Post, again as Ad Director. In 2011 she joined Iliffe News and Media as Publisher at Staffordshire Newspapers and managed a number of daily and weekly titles across three counties.
With the merger of both the Northcliffe and Iliffe businesses in 2013, Fiona joined the West Midlands Region to run the Stafford business as Media Sales Director.
With a total of 26 years in media, Fiona joins the Cornwall team with a wealth of experience.
Fiona said “I am delighted to be joining DC Media. Cornwall holds special memories for me as many of my childhood holidays were spent in this beautiful part of the country. Cornwall still holds strong community values and our Cornish titles and websites play an enormous part in keeping that community spirit alive and kicking. The mild climate and beautiful beaches is just an added bonus.”
Fiona will start her new role on Monday 1st December and will report directly to Mark Sainsbury, Managing Director Devon & Cornwall and South West Wales Media.
