He will be succeeded by Richard Caccappolo, currently chief operating officer of MailOnline, with DMGT deputy CFO James Welsh appointed deputy CEO of dmg media.
The changes are unrelated to the group's reorganisation, according to a statement released by the company.
Chairman Lord Rothermere said: "I am hugely grateful to Kevin for all he has done for dmg media over 25 years. He has driven immense change and ushered in a new future for the business. I look forward to continuing to work with him as a board director."
In comments made to City AM he added that Beatty is “a brilliant leader and a trusted adviser and friend.”
Speaking of Beatty’s replacement and the new deputy CFO, Lord Rothermere told City AM: “Rich and James are a formidable team, having both played integral parts in our success to date. I am confident that they are the right people to lead us through this next exciting phase of our development.”
The news comes as DMGT prepares to go private, a move giving Lord Rothermere full control over the newspaper business.
