During the visit, Managing Director of IMX Nicholas Street told Mr Davey about his firm’s strong European links, with 60% of its revenue coming from European operations. Two-thirds of IMX’s distribution is in European countries; this has increased dramatically in recent years due to EU enlargement.

Having worked on postal affairs when I was a Business Minister, it was interesting to learn how access to markets in other EU countries has helped the company expand their European operations so they can deliver to destinations across Europe.”

Access to the European Single Market and the EU’s 31 trade deals with countries around the globe is really important for encouraging trade and investment in Britain. I support the work Lib Dem MEP for London Sarah Ludford is doing to push for an EU-US trade agreement, which would boost the London economy by £2 billion and support businesses like IMX that operate on both sides of the Atlantic.”
