Express launches iPad apps

Express Newspapers have gone live with their Daily and Sunday Express iPad application, complete with scrollable replica editions, ITN video and customisable news feeds.

The Express iPad app features search, download and social networking tools as well as integration with iTunes, so users can listen to music whilst reading their favourite newspaper, says the publisher.

The Daily Express app is available to download from iTunes, priced at £7.99 and includes 30 days subscription to the digital newspaper, which is “exceptional value”, says the Express, as readers can read all the daily and both weekend editions on their iPad. To give readers a taste of the latest edition, Express Newspapers are also giving their first three pages for free with the option to extend the subscription.

The Daily and Sunday Express app maximises the iPads' clarity, zoom and screen size making the daily edition an “incredibly intuitive reading experience”. Other reader features include the ability to flip the iPad and read the newspaper in a double page spread format or tap the page selector to a choose a thumbnail image of each page. Customers can also download and save individual pages or editions of the paper to read offline and when they are on the go.

The app features high levels of personalisation with customisable live news feeds and an updating ticker, so customers can instantly discover all the breaking stories from Daily and Sunday Express. To find specific content, users can use the powerful search, which draws results from within the live news and the newspaper edition.

The Daily and Sunday Express iPad app is developed by PageSuite. There is a preview of the app on YouTube.
