Gina Sanders Named President, Condé Nast Global Development

Condé Nast yesterday named Gina Sanders President of Global Development. The announcement was made jointly by Charles Townsend, Condé Nast Chief Executive Officer and Jonathan Newhouse, Chairman and Chief Executive of Condé Nast International.

Reporting to both Mr Townsend and Mr Newhouse, Ms Sanders will work with Condé Nast’s current and prospective business partners globally to create new business opportunities, drawing upon the corporation’s geographical, operational and creative resources, which span 30 markets around the world.

This key strategic role is the first global position of its kind within Condé Nast, and represents an effort to respond to the needs of its business partners at the highest level. Ms Sanders will have offices in New York and Paris.

“In today’s dynamic business environment, it is more important than ever to have a coordinated global network and reach,” said Mr Townsend. “With Gina’s extensive relationships and strong business acumen, we will be able to fully harness the power of our brands worldwide.”

“I am delighted that Gina is taking on this new role,” added Mr Newhouse. “She is a results-getting executive who makes things happen, and that will be good news for our brands and our business partners.”

“The opportunity to envision and activate the power of Condé Nast on a global scale is exhilarating,” said Ms Sanders. “Working with Jonathan, Chuck, our terrific teams around the world and our cherished business partners is a dream come true.”

A 26-year Condé Nast veteran, Ms. Sanders was most recently President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairchild Fashion Media, a position she has held since 2010. During that time, she led the company to high double-digit, bottom-line growth prior to its recent sale to the Penske Media Corporation. Previously, she served as Vice President and Publisher of Lucky, the founding Vice President and Publisher of Teen Vogue, and Vice President and Publisher of Gourmet and Details. During her tenure in these posts, she received numerous accolades including multiple placements on AdWeek’s Hot List and AdAge’s A-List, as well as receiving the prestigious Matrix Award from New York Women in Communications, among others.
