Iliffe launches new website for Suffolk
Barry Peters: “We will bring all the stories and the pictures which make the headlines.”

As reported on the News Media Association website:

Suffolknews.co.uk is powered by the brands the company operates in the East Anglian county, including the Bury Free Press, Haverhill Echo, Newmarket Journal, Suffolk Free Press and Diss Express.

The website will compete across the county, and will cover areas beyond the existing weekly titles, such as Ipswich, which is currently covered by the Ipswich Star.

A new team of digital specialists will be working on the project, editor Barry Peters said today.

The site aims to provide longer reads with breaking news, and a podcast every Friday looking back on the week in the county.

He said: “Our teams of local journalists from those titles plus a new team of digital specialists will be bringing you the brightest news, videos and a weekly podcast to make sure you are bang up to date with the news everyone is talking about from our lovely county.

“From the waterfront of Ipswich to the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds, and from the beach huts of Southwold to the finishing post in Newmarket, we will bring all the stories and the pictures which make the headlines.”
