iSUBSCRiBE to launch subs website for WHSmith

iSUBSCRiBE, the online magazine and newspaper subscription superstore, has announced that it will launch and manage a new magazine subscription website for leading magazine retailer WHSmith.

With over 1,040 retail stores, WHSmith is the largest specialist retailer of magazines, newspapers, books, stationery and related products in the UK.

The new website, http://magazines.whsmith.co.uk, will go live later this month. Simultaneously, iSUBSCRiBE will also launch the UK’s first mobile and smart phone enabled magazine subscription website for WHSmith.

Representing over 500 publishers through direct contractual relationships and with over 2,500 consumer, business and specialist magazine titles, as well as newspapers, iSUBSCRiBE covers every magazine subscription genre from lifestyle and fashion, news and entertainment, to science and sport.

iSUBSCRiBE’s product range also includes holiday brochures, retail catalogues, newspapers and anextensive array of magazines from abroad. Each of these products will also be promoted to the WHSmith database.

iSUBSCRiBE developed its first white label magazine subscription website in the UK with high street retailer, Next, in 2010. As with this website, the WHSmith website has been fully designed, developed and will be managed in-house by iSUBSCRiBE.

Sarah Turner, Trading Controller, WHSmith Direct said of the new partnership, “WHSmith are delighted to work with iSUBSCRiBE to bring our customers an increased range of magazine subscription titles.

“We can successfully extend our product offering to include not only a broad range of magazine subscriptions but also newspaper subscriptions, magazines from abroad, holiday brochures and retail catalogues.

“We are thrilled with the new site, which we believe will give customers a brilliant shopping experience,” she said.

Andrew Burge, CEO of iSUBSCRiBE said, "I am delighted that WHSmith has engaged iSUBSCRiBE to manage their online magazine subscriptions solution.

“We are committed to the opportunities for substantial subscriber growth and look forward to taking the relationship to a higher level by providing their customers with market leading online and mobile / smart phone presence.

"Just ask anyone on the high street about where they get their magazines and inevitably the answer that comes back is ‘WHSmith’. There could not be a better match than the one between our two companies,” he said.

Trading since 2003, iSUBSCRiBE also has operations in Australia and New Zealand.
