Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger Medien chooses Zephr
Andreas Martin: “We are very excited to work with KStA Medien.”

Zephr has announced that KStA Medien has selected Zephr, a Zuora company, to power the next generation of paywalls across their publishing titles. This partnership will span across their websites www.ksta.de & www.rundschau-online.de.

As one of the leading newspapers in the Cologne region, KStA Medien's objective is to have software that excels in each business domain, allowing the continued production of high-quality content and the ability to appeal to their audiences. KStA Medien needed a solution, and after an extensive search, they chose Zephr to help with their paywall implementation. They favoured Zephr over competitors because of Zephr’s ability to work alongside their existing tech capabilities and establish flexibility in the future.

Using Zephr’s Subscription Experience Platform service, KStA Medien will drive retention by creating custom user journeys and personalised experiences for their audiences. Zephr’s drag-and-drop Rules Builder and decision tree capabilities offer KStA Medien the ability to create tailored outcomes and scenarios for different user groups in more detail and with increased flexibility than before. This means KStA Medien can offer user groups different features, improving customer experience and making it more user-friendly.

Zephr’s VP of customer experience, Andreas Martin said: “We are very excited to work with KStA Medien. It’s always great to see a business that recognises the importance of improving the experience for their customers. Forward-thinking businesses like KStA Medien are in a great position to grow, not only by appealing to audiences, but also by being adaptable to changes in the market, and operating with a test and iterate mindset. We are proud to support them on this journey.”

KStA Media’s head of subscription intelligence, Sophie Janz said: “We searched the market for a product we could implement alongside the introduction of different best-of-breed systems. Zephr offers a flexible solution for this purpose, while allowing us to create outcomes for different user groups in more detail than before. It makes it considerably easier to build user journeys and target specific outcomes to user groups, granting us increased adaptability in future.”
