Lichfield loses second newspaper within space of two years

The Midland News Association has closed the Lichfield edition of Chronicle Week “following a review of its portfolio”.

Lichfield loses second newspaper within space of two years

The title was launched in October 2020, one month after Reach closed down the 205-year-old Lichfield Mercury.

MNA editor-in-chief Martin Wright, writing in the latest edition of the free weekly, said: “The Midland News Association has made the difficult decision to cease publication of the Lichfield Chronicle Week following a review of its portfolio.

“The wider Chronicle Week series will continue, including the Cannock edition, which will maintain its presence covering the Burntwood area.

“Readers are able to keep up to date with all the news from Lichfield - and around the region - in our sister daily newspaper, the Express & Star, which is available from newsagents and many supermarkets.

“Alternatively, visit www.expressandstar.com for the latest news and sport as it happens - you can also sign up for our daily newsletter and receive notifications of latest news.

“We would like to thank all of our readers and advertisers for their support of Lichfield Chronicle Week.”
