The National Press Awards for 2018, organised by the Society of Editors, recognise reporters and correspondents, commentators, columnists, cartoonists, designers, photographers, scoops, investigations and campaigns. The awards culminate with the News Website of the Year and Newspaper and Sunday Newspaper of the Year titles.
There are 39 categories including the Journalists’ Charity Award, the Cudlipp Award for campaign of the year and the Georgina Henry Prize for Innovation, in memory of the former deputy editor of The Guardian and founding member of Women in Journalism. A shortlist for the Georgina Henry Prize for Innovation will be announced separately.
Winners will be announced at a glittering gala dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on Tuesday 2 April 2019.
This year’s awards will be presented by BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Emma Barnett.
The awards are organised on behalf of the industry by the Society of Editors. Proceeds help to fund the Society of Editors’ campaigns for media freedom and the Journalists’ Charity.
