News UK launches budget holidays site

News UK has just launched a brand new dedicated holiday website, The Sun Holidays, packed, say the publishers, with exclusive offers, great savings and plenty of choice.

The huge popularity of The Sun’s annual £9.50 holiday offers – 45 million people have holidayed with them to date – shows that readers already trust The Sun to deliver great vacations at reasonable prices, and www.thesunholidays.co.uk will expand on that success, says News UK.

The Sun Holidays website offers exclusive daily deals from multiple partners, simultaneously promoted in the newspaper, which are available for a limited time only. Plus many hotels will offer special perks to customers who book through the site, such as free Wifi, access to children’s clubs or spa treatments.

The Sun Holidays has also partnered with Lowcostholidays.com to offer customers the option to design their own holiday. They can search by destination or holiday type to create the perfect vacation from an adventure to an exotic location, to a city break nearer to home.

As part of its promotional plans, from the 18th January, The Sun Holidays will be offering the chance to win a villa for a summer through the website and a holiday a day the following week. Prizes will include a city break, cruise and a family trip to Disneyland Paris.

Following consultation with Sun readers who revealed they hated hidden costs, complicated search functions and a lack of choice, the Sun Holidays website has been designed with this in mind, and features easily navigable search functions and transparent offers, says News UK.

The website is backed by strong editorial, and it features 125 comprehensive destination guides together with regular news and articles from The Sun newspaper’s travel pages.

Victoria Sanders, Head of Travel for News UK, said: “Using The Sun newspaper's experience in travel, The Sun Holidays offers amazing value to holidaymakers. Whether it's guaranteed sunshine, a long haul adventure or a city break closer to home, The Sun Holidays offers a one-stop shop for the perfect trip.”

Neil Martin, Business Development Director for News UK, said: “The Sun has a natural heritage in offering readers great value holidays and high quality travel writing, and it is exciting to be able to bring these two together in a brand new website. The launch is another success for our brand development following on from other initiatives such as Sun Bingo.”
