Newsworks Planning Awards – winners announced

Agency winners include Wavemaker, Bountiful Cow, OMD, Blue 449, Goodstuff, PHD, Greenhouse GroupM and MediaCom – which picked up the Chair’s Award, chosen by Tesco’s Alessandra Bellini. The Guardian and Starcom both won in the new Planning with PAMCo category.

Alessandra Bellini, chief customer officer at Tesco and chair of the 2018 jury, said: “In our current media landscape, newsbrands are often viewed as a steady option, adept at the core fundamentals of a campaign – solid, brand building activity that taps into established reader relationships. Of course this is true, but what the winners show is that newsbrands simultaneously offer the opportunity to innovate, to push boundaries and create clever, integrated tailored solutions for clients. Many congratulations to all of them.”

Vanessa Clifford, CEO of Newsworks, added: “Great storytelling, collaboration and a deep understanding of contextual planning is at the centre of all of this year’s winners. With more entries than ever before, competition was fierce. All of the winners should feel very proud of themselves – well done!”
