PoliceOracle introduces paywall

PoliceOracle.com has launched a new look site and paywall.

In what the publishers say is a first for the police publishing sector, the site will launch a monthly article quota system for light users and paid subscriptions for regular users.

The site launched in 1998 as a portal for policing news and a community forum for officers. The past year has seen investment in a new larger editorial team to develop an independent capability to provide quality news, opinion and best practice for a police audience.

The development of PoliceOracle.com has been very successful with the site attracting over 100,000 unique visitors every month and over 5.9 million page views per month, say the publishers.

From Monday April 22nd all users will need to register for a free account to read up to 10 free articles per month. Readers requiring greater access can subscribe to unlimited access on a three monthly or annual billing with a special discount rate for serving police officers and staff.

Subscriptions will include access to articles from sister magazine Police Product Insight the international technology magazine for police and national security, plus access to the soon to be released Police Oracle app.

The new look site has been designed to better showcase Police Oracle's large volume of editorial covering both mainstream policing issues as well as specialist areas such as firearms, forensics and counter terrorism.
